Optional analytics
Only with your consent, we use PostHog EU to measure page views and clicks on the header and hero community links. The purpose is to understand which campaigns bring interested visitors. The legal basis for this optional processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Events contain the known page path, approved campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term), referring hostname where available, and, for clicks, destination category and placement. Campaign values are limited to letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens. We do not send full page or destination URLs, query strings, fragments or referring paths as analytics properties.
After consent, a random browser identifier distinguishes returning browsers, not people across devices. A separate session identifier groups visits across page loads and changes after 30 minutes without a measured event. These identifiers are stored separately from your consent decision, bound to that particular acceptance. They are cleared when you reject or withdraw consent or when the website observes its 180-day expiry, where browser storage permits. We disable session replay, automatic click capture, person profiles and analytics cookies or persistent SDK storage. PostHog receives network requests only after consent; network processing can still expose your IP address to the service even though IP-based enrichment is disabled.
Your choice
Accept and reject are equally available. Until you accept, the analytics SDK is not loaded and no analytics events are sent. Your browser stores your consent decision, version, expiry and a unique choice generation under oilsoil.analytics-consent.v1 for 180 days. Only after acceptance, random browser/session identifiers and the last measured activity time are stored separately under oilsoil.analytics-activity.v1.<generation>. Updating activity cannot change your consent decision. If that storage is unavailable, analytics stays off.
Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops future analytics; it does not undo processing that already occurred. Clearing browser storage also clears the choice. Analytics may be unavailable on preview sites or when it is not configured.
Provider and other website processing
Analytics is sent to PostHog's EU ingestion service. See PostHog's privacy notice for provider information. Hosting and ordinary server request logs are separate from optional analytics; see our general privacy notice. External community links open services with their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data, withdraw consent, and complain to a supervisory authority. Contact the controller using the details in the imprint. The random identifiers do not include your name or contact details. If you clear your browser storage or withdraw consent, we may be unable to associate past analytics events with you.
